NEWS & UPDATE
There will be a break over the next few months in our regular schedule for the Mass and Office… we will be starting again in the spring and should be posting details of our timetable here before too long.
Below are the regular times for Holy Mass (celebrated in the Ordinariate Use) and other services of the Guildford Ordinariate, from October 2016 to 7 January 2017 inclusive. Services are held at St Edward the Confessor, Sutton Place, Guildford, Surrey.
There will be an extra celebration on Tuesday 27 December at 3 pm, Feast of St John the Evangelist, followed by refreshments.
On Saturday 28 November 2015 at 3pm there will be a Votive Mass of Our Lady in the ORDINARIATE USE at the Catholic Church of St Edward the Confessor, Guildford. The Mass will be offered by Fr John Maunder of St Agatha’s, Portsmouth. The church is located in Sutton Park, Guildford, GU4 7QN. The Mass is being held with the kind permission of the parish priest.
This is the first event ever held by the Guildford Ordinariate, a small group very much in the early stages of development, and an ideal opportunity for any and all to come and see what the Ordinariate is all about and to experience its beautiful liturgy.
The Ordinariate Use is Catholic liturgy with ancient roots and great historical significance. It includes the FULL ROMAN CANON and Offertory Prayers of the Traditional Latin Mass united with some of the most beloved texts from the Book of Common Prayer – all in beautiful and reverent Elizabethan English. It was approved by the Holy See in 2013.
The Mass will be followed by a short talk by Fr Maunder and refreshments.
